On Safari with Kay

It seems like every day is safari day with me.  From my backyard safari to far away African safaris I am always ready to see the wonderful sights.  I have to bring my cameras to capture some of the beauty and save a bit for posterity. This site shows only a very few of the thousands of photos I've taken over the last few years and most recently a couple of weeks ago on my latest African Safari, the second one this year.

Each safari presents a different challenge even though it could be a second or third visit to the same area. Many factors play a part into making each safari different, i.e. different animals, weather, foliage, time of year, season, animal habitats and behavior, just as everyday presents its challenges, so do safaris. Therefore, never discount going to an area more than once. It is almost guaranteed you will see something that was not available on your last safari.

In addition to safari photos there just may be a few selected photos of flowers taken in my almost     daily backyard safaris that you just might spot on the site.

LATEST NEWS - June 11, 2007:

I attended the Sugar Plum Festival at the Orange County Fairgrounds these past few days. It ended two nights ago.

The Sugar Plum Festival is held four times a year, in Orange County and the Pomona Fairgrounds.

The spring show is held in Pomona in early October and in Orange County mid October. The holiday shows are held in November/December. The 2007 dates are shown here. Please bring the certificate with you for a chance to win a $100 gift certificate.

I sold many of my safari photos and greeting cards. There were other safari themed items such as glass cutting boards, and mousepads, clipboards, etc. using some of the safari photos I have. We plan on attending the next fair they put on there in about three months.

If you live in Southern California near Orange County please visit us at the fair. Look for me. Hope to see you there.

LATE BREAKING NEWS - 2/8/07:

I am now making the arrangements for my next African Safari. This will be a dream safari - it will go to some of the best places with some of the best accomodations. This South African Safari will be one of the best safaris I have taken. Plans are now in progress and if you have any interest in attending any safari then this should be the one to go on. The price is a premium price, but still a great bargain for what you will experience - and at a luxury many cannot afford. But if you are one of the selected few to reserve your place on this special high-end safari then you need to make your reservation very soon. I expect this safari to be sold out so if you have any interest in attending don't procrastinate or your place will be filled. A maximum of 12 persons can attend due to travel and accomodation limitations.

I hope some of you will be able to make this early year 2008 African Safari. Select the Upcoming Dream Safari on the menu for more details.

PREVIOUS NEWS:

I just returned from my latest safari in mid November.  As usual it was great!  Although I knew I had to get back home it was almost as if I was leaving a dreamland and returning back to the usual grind.  Oops, it is not really a grind as I am fortunate enough to keep my own hours and do as I please.  However that is not the case for many of you.  Regardless, a well-planned African Safari is something that everyone should experience at least once in their lifetime if they can.

An unexpected situation presented itself and as a result this most recent safari was quickly arranged.  Fortunately I have been on a many safaris and even though time was of the essence everything went well, just as planned. This last safari was different from the previous; as each safari seems different even though some of the same places could be visited.

Once I verified all travel arrangements, including air fare, hotels, camps and lodging, available tours and guides and a hundred and one other things I notified everyone.  From departure to the various destinations during the two weeks all went well.  I was the only one of our party of a half dozen on our safari that had ever been to Africa, let alone on a real African safari.

This was my second African Safari this year and believe it or not I returned from a trip to Brazil only about a month ago with another tour group I led on their first trip there.  That was also my first trip to Brazil, but you can be sure I'll go back if the circumstances ever permit. That was another dream trip.

Well I could write a small book on the happenings on that safari, but I will end now to attend to other pressing matters.
