
Africa - Documentaries and Movies
There are many documentaries and movies concerning Africa and a few about African safaris. I have selected a few for you to consider. Some of these are are well known and were quite popular while others you may never have heard of. Read the descriptions of each and consider seeing a few of these. There are more I know of, but are not shown here or are generally unavailable or out of print.
Here is a movie which shows you some scenes of Africa so you can see a little taste of what you might experience if you go on a safari. There is another western movie which comes with it.
Indian Paint (1964)/African Safari [DVD](1969)
DVD
First,
a Western drama for the whole family follows the adventures of a young
Plains Indian boy and the wild colt he tames and grows to love, in
"Indian Paint." Johnny Crawford, Jay (Tonto) Silverheels star. Next,
explore the Dark Continent with animal collector Ron Shanin, who guides
you through Central and East Africa in the magnificent nature film
"African Safari." AKA: "Rivers of Fire and Ice." 189 min, total.

Another classic movie which you will enjoy, even if you've seen it before. If you haven't seen it, this is a can't miss movie.
Out Of Africa [DVD](1985) DVD
Spectacular,
beautiful filming of author Isak Dinesen's accounts of her life in
1910s Africa won seven Academy Awards, including Best Picture and
Director. Meryl Streep stars as the Danish woman who reluctantly goes
to Africa with husband Klaus Maria Brandauer to run a coffee
plantation, but slowly comes to fall in love with the untamed land and
with hunter Robert Redford; directed by Sydney Pollack. 161 min.

Here are more movies, all of which have many scenes of Africa. Some of these you may have already seen, but if you are like me I often like to see movies more than once. Also you might want to consider collecting some of these movies to preserve a little of the african adventure and African documentaries.
I Dreamed Of Africa [DVD](2000) DVD
In this true story, Kim Basinger is Kuki Gallman, a divorced Italian
socialite who weds dashing young adventurer Vincent Perez and, along
with her young son, moves with him to Africa, where she once lived.
Settling onto a large Kenyan ranch, Basinger struggles to overcome
trials ranging from wild animals and ivory poachers to Perez's lengthy
